Portable blackout blind

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • What size is the *nomadic star blackout blind?
    130X200cm
  • How small can I make my *nomadic star blackout blind?
The blind can adjust to a window as small as 60x80cm by attaching all of the hook and loop Velcro style patches to one another.
  • Can I machine wash the blackout blind?
To preserve the life of your *nomadic star blackout blind we recommend sponge clean or hand wash and drip dry only.
  • One of my suction cups is misshapen and won’t stick. What should I do?
Submerge the suction cup in a bowl of hot water for 2-3 minutes and roll between your fingers to help it regain it’s shape.
  • My suction cups still won’t stick and I don’t know why?
Suction cups stick better when the window and cups have been cleaned with soap and water and then dried with a lint free cloth. Make sure the window is free from cleaning residue before attaching the blind. Apply just enough water to lightly coat the surface area of your suction cup. Too much water will cause the cup to slip and too little won’t provide enough suction. When placing the suction cups onto the window press onto the glass for a few seconds before releasing the pressure to create a vacuum seal.
  • How do I remove the blackout blind?
When taking down your blind if you have used any of the optional frame fasteners provided, gently separate these from the hook and loop patches on the blackout blind first. Then, carefully pull the tab on the suction cups to release the vacuum seal to the window. Store safely away in your *nomadic star blackout blind travel bag.
  • Is the *nomadic star blackout blind suitable for any window?
Yes, as long as the window is in good condition and is not laminated, textured, leaded or has internal wire strengthening. *Please note that the optional frame fasteners provided should not be applied to old or newly decorated wooden window frames as removal may damage the paintwork.
  • I have heard that windows can crack when using portable blackout blinds. Is this true?
The *nomadic star blackout blind has been designed with a silver back to reflect heat rather than attract it like black backed blinds. However, although this significantly reduces the risk of windows overheating and cracking nomadic star advises that the window behind the blind be left slightly open during very hot weather to let heat escape and reduce the unlikely risk of this happening.
  • Does the blind make the bedroom pitch black?
No. The *nomadic star blind is made from 100% blackout material but a small amount of light seepage around the frame is inevitable. However, unlike most suction blinds optional frame fasteners are provided which minimize this.
  • How much does the *nomadic star blackout blind weigh?
The blind only weighs 745g making it perfect for travelling or home use.
